End Of Production Survey - By Charlie

The end of production survey was useful in that it allowed us to understand exactly how contempt the audience felt in terms of their entertainment needs being satisfied by our products overall, including both the DigiPak and Website as well as the music video and our blogs. This final feedback was useful as it pointed out any small things needed to be changed or dealt with in any of the products including the blog.

Analysis Of Existing Products: Calvin Harris (DigiPak) - By Charlie

This post was useful to me as it once again acted as another example of how the conventions of pop genre could be applied to a DigiPak product in a real life existing circumstance. This further solidified my understanding of the technique needed in order to successfully add these conventions to my own DigiPak. Similarly to the Tinie Tempah DigiPak previously analysed, I found that the use of bright colours is a continuous convention of pop genre seen throughout most DigiPaks, therefore this has influenced me into considering emphasising the bright vibrant colours as one of the more noticeable main conventions of my own DigiPak product.

Analysis Of Existing Products: Tinie Tempah (Disc-Overy DigiPak) - By Cameron

This analysis of an existing pop genre DigiPak allowed me to focus in depth on how the conventions of pop genre are applied to DigiPaks in real life existing circumstances. This broadened my knowledge and understanding of the various conventions commonly seen in pop genre DigiPaks too, in this case particularly bright vibrant colours and the presentation of the star in order to present a figure of significance for the audience to idolise conform to. Furthermore this also acted as inspiration for the creation and development of my own DigiPak by using conventions of pop genre in a similar way.

Production Meeting Notes For January 22nd 2014 - By Charlie

The below is all what we have discussed during a scheduled group meeting on January 22nd, 2014:

Things we have completed since last meeting:
Filming of footage from Central London
- Gathered all the photos that we had taken during filming in order to put them on the 'Gallery' page of the website.
- The website has been finished however the only thing left to do on it is to upload the music video to it, once we have finished editing.

Things that still need to be completed:
- Posts on the blog for the website and the digipak
- Editing the footage that we have acquired from the different locations and to put it into sequences to go into the music video.
- Evaluation questions (will be starting next week)

Digipak:
The digipak has been completed but still needs some more posts about it uploaded to the blog.

Website:
The website is now fully completed buts can not yet be published because we still need to post the music video that we create, on the site upon completion.

The below is all what we have discussed during a scheduled group meeting on December 1st, 2013:

Things we have completed since last meeting:
- Filming for all party locations
- Digipak design and production

Things that still need to be completed:
- Filming of footage from Central London
- Completion of Digipak design itself
- Finish editing the rest of the video once we have filmed the footage from London

Digipak:
- The digipak is now completed, however we still have to upload some extra posts to the blog relating to the digipak.

Website:
- There is only a few minor tweaks that need to made to the website itself, however similarly to the digipak, we still have some extra posts that we still need to upload before it can be fully completed.

We still need to complete our evaluation tasks but this will be completed after christmas.

Production Meeting Notes For October 4th 2013 - By Charlie

The below is all what we have discussed during a scheduled group meeting on October 4th, 2013:

Things that we have completed so far:
- Filming at three party locations (Rykia, Charlye and Harry party)
- Filming in limo
- Photos that we have taken at the party locations

Things that still need to be completed:
- Filming of individual shots
- More filming at other locations so that we can use the same type of setting but at a different location.
- Website planning and creation
- Digipak planning and creation

Digipak:
- We spoke about possibly making the digipak mostly black and white, with the front cover background being black and having a group picture on the front with the name of the album and the names of two of our big/upcoming songs.
- The insert will also conform to the colour scheme with the black background and white font.
- The CD itself will be black with 'Heads Will Roll' written in white font across the front and a small design if it is possible to fit on there.
- The back cover will be similar to the insert with a black background and a white font - listing all the names of the tracks on the CD, and the barcode and additional information at the bottom.

Website:
- The website will be more colourful than the digipak, this is to conform to the stereotypical representation of a band in the dance genre.
- We also want the website to be where people to go should they need information, so will try to make it as aesthetically pleasing as possible.

Change Of Filming Location - By Charlie

As shown in previous posts, we had planned to record footage at Brighton pier. However, due to weather conditions in October and the Brighton pier security team only allowing us to film on weekdays which we cannot make due to attending sixth form, we were unable to travel to Brighton to record any footage.

Despite this, we have chosen to go into London to film footage, which is instead of going to Brighton. We travelled to Oxford Circus, Picadilly Square, Trafalgar Square, Southbank (The London Eye), China Town and Brixton in which we recorded scenes to go towards our music video. London is a very busy and vibrant city allowing us to capture scenes that would our target audience could relate to even more.
Now that we are in the post-production stage I think we have realised that we have benefitted from some even better footage than we may have been able to get in Brighton, so are happy we made the decision to film in London instead.
