Treatment for Website – Mission 808: Heads Will Roll:

Initial Idea:

The initial idea for our website is to create an illusion of bright lights and the party scene, by using bright, neon colours against a black background so that they stand out against everything else. We decided on this idea through our video, as we are focusing largely on technical aspects such as natural bright lights, and artificial colourful lighting, so we thought we would follow this idea through to the website, in order to keep the theme of youth culture and night life alive throughout all of our work. The font used is to be bold and, again, stand out from everything else, not only because it fits in with our theme, but so that people are constantly reminded of the name of the band, so it stays in their mind and sticks out above everything else and when they leave the site, they will remember what it’s called. On our website we will include information about:        

 

 

• The band, e.g how/when they started out, who they are signed by etc.

• Tour dates, when/where they will be touring and links to ticket websites.

• Information on all their albums and song.

• Behind the scenes action e.g. making the videos and songs in studio.

• A gallery, including videos and behind the scenes and snap shots of their most popular videos, and also some insight into their everyday lives, to make the audience feel as if they have a personal relationship with the band.

We gained some inspiration for our website, from other celebrities website’s such as Ellie Goulding, who also used the feature of having pictures of her everyday life in order to connect with her audience, and make them feel as if they are a part of her life also, so we are deciding to use this idea for our own website. Other celebrities such as David Guetta have a live twitter feed on their website, which also is a very effective idea as it will direct the audience over to twitter which not only will gain more followers for the artist, but is advertising the social networking website itself also, and introduces it to other people that may not have twitter and will therefore persuade them to get twitter, as one of their favourite artists uses it, so this will be another feature used on our website.
